Stand Strong!

Going through a divorce can feel like a battle. You are constantly having to muster the strength to go up against some very difficult situations. Often times it seems like it is you against the world. It can be a very lonely and discouraging time. Stand strong! Our faith teaches that we are not alone in our struggles. We have a God who promises over and over in the scriptures that He will never abandon us. In fact, He promises that we can expect Him to step in and help just when we need it most. Our God is a faithful God who will never leave us hanging. Let this Truth encourage you in your daily struggle and give you courage, strength, and hope.

The word of the LORD came to me thus:
 Gird your loins;
     stand up and tell them
     all that I command you.
 Be not crushed on their account,
     as though I would leave you crushed before them;
 For it is I this day
     who have made you a fortified city,
 A pillar of iron, a wall of brass,
     against the whole land:
 Against Judah’s kings and princes,
     against its priests and people.
 They will fight against you, but not prevail over you,
     for I am with you to deliver you, says the Lord.

                                                                                       – Jeremiah 1:17-19

  1. Great inspiration. It is definitely a battle. God gives us the strength to persevere. Please pray for my friend who is going through a tough divorce and is battling in the courts right now. He is a great dad and loves his family very much.

  2. Amen! What many folks don”t realize (because they mistakenly belive that the Old Testament salvation was based on the works of the law) is that the salvation offered by God in the Old Testament is the same salvation that is available to us today! It has always been on the basis of faith and not just faith in anything (certainly not faith in religion) but only on the basis of faith in the substitionary sacrifice of the lamb of God. Even in Moses day (especially in Moses day) the faith that saved was faith in the present day message of the cross: the death, burial and resurrection of a suffering Messiah that was proclaimed openly through type, shadow, and the word of prophecy. A good book on this subject is featured on my website: A Three-Fold Cord, God bears witness to His salvation plan for mankind: the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

    • Dear Cristina,
      My prayers are with you and your family. I am in the midst of the same agony as you. The stress is almost unbearable and there seems no respite on earth. Only God can help us and I pray that you feel his calming, loving presence in your life as He shepherds you through these trials.
