Are you having a hard time forgiving yourself? Take it to confession and know that Our Lord gave everything to forgive your sins, no matter how great. His mercy is always greater than your sin. Accept it. Next, ask yourself what you can do to repair the damage left by your sin, and do it.
When we fail to forgive, including ourselves, we are clutching the past so tightly that we canβt embrace the gifts of today and the promise of tomorrow. The one-two punch of accepting forgiveness and then making it right is the key to letting go and becoming free, free to live a life of abundant peace, joy, and love.
In him we have redemption by his blood, the forgiveness of transgressions, in accord with the riches of his grace. – Ephesians 1:7

In my marriage, I definitely made my share of mistakes. I definitely did blame myself a lot for my failed marriage. However, it takes two to love and forgive. Also, you can’t change the past but you can choose in the present. Therefore, I asked for God’s forgiveness and he has been with me the whole time. Confession and communion have been my life blood in my journey through divorce. Great post and God bless!
